Wisconsin: A Pizza Farm

Tuesday nights is where it's at in Stockholm, Wisconsin. The A to Z Farm is a Pizza Farm open on Tuesday nights from March to October. Tuesday is the only night of the week they serve pizza which is a little hard to get to if you don't live in Stockholm, but it's so worth it. Everything on the pizza from the wheat to the meat to the vegetables is all grown and stewarded on the property. After you order your pizza you can walk the farm to throw your blanket down and watch a few cows walk by then take a walk down the pasture to watch the sun set quietly as it always does on a farm. It's a true farm-to-table experience.

The Lark Hotel - Bozeman Montana

I stopped in Bozeman Montana for an overnight recently. When researching hotels in Montana, the Lark kept popping up in my searches over and over again. I'm so glad it did.

The hotel had everything you could want-unique location, well-designed & supplied, uniquely decorated, and a taco truck out front. I would highly recommend staying there. Make sure to check in next time you are in Bozeman.

Places : Pioneer Square, Seattle

Pioneer Square is the oldest part of Seattle with beautiful brick buildings and old vines. When you are there it feels like you can feel the heart-beat of Seattle. Here are a few places I would recommend stopping in if you ever go:
  • The London Plane - This place has everything... Flowers, Seriously Good Food, A Bakery, and a good Merchandise section to buy everything you need to make your home look like the restaurant. Try the toasts!
  • Damn The Weather - Best spot to go when it's raining.
  • Elm Coffee Roasters - Incredible coffee, a beautifully designed storefront, and sunny windows to sit and soak in the rays.
  • Waterfall Garden Park - This little secluded park feels like a hidden gem. It's a lovely place to hide from the rain and feel like you stepped into a secret garden.
  • Laguna Pottery - This beautiful vintage pottery store is a curated spot where you can find some serious treasures. But it would be a nightmare with Children. :)
  • Ebbets Field Flannels - Best spot to pick up your favorite team's vintage jersey or hat.
  • E. Smith Mercantile - This little gem of a store has a unique selection of products ranging from food items to clothing. Also don't miss the Back Bar!

Hiking In Washington : Things To Know

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for 4 Years. I love the fact that you can be standing on a mountaintop one day and be standing at the edge of the ocean the next day.

I was shy to try hiking at first. It seemed like the people that did it were so hardcore and I felt like I wouldn't fit in or be the wheezy girl that had to "stop and take a breather" every three steps. Then I tried my first hike and saw the views from the top and realized why people fall in love with it. There's really nothing like it.

Kirkland, Washington - Greater Seattle Area

Kirkland is one of my favorite places in the world! I have lived here for 3 Years and never want to leave. Here's a few of my favorite places.

Eat:
  • DERU Market - Try the Rosemary Cream Pizza, Farm Salad, Coconut Cake, Jam Dots, or any of the Chef's Specials (menu changes daily).
  • Bottle & Bull - Best spot for burger, fries and a cocktail. The menu changes seasonally but they normally have a fantastic roasted vegetable dish.
  • Flatstick Pub - Because who doesn't love playing mini-golf? Also dog-friendly.
  • Cactus - Not unique to Kirkland but they have a great happy hour menu. Try the Mexican Lemonade or the Sage Cocktail.
  • Lady Yum - Grab a glass of champagne and a few macarons!

The Sunshine State: Point Reyes National Seashore

We made a day trip up to Point Reyes National Seashore.  There are several original farms from early settlers that are still running. The thick fog and the history of the area made it feel very quiet and reflective.

The Sunshine State: Big Sur

Big Sur was incredible. By far my favorite part. Everything was golden and beautiful. We ended the day watching the sunset at Pfeiffer Beach at Keyhole Rock – it blew our socks off. So gorgeous.

The Sunshine State: Drive Through California

The first day of our trip was so beautiful – we just drove for hours listening to lovely music, sipping on coffee and seeing the heart of California. Our goal was to drive from Los Angeles to Monterrey, where our hotel was. Here are some of the sights we saw a long the way.

Stay Tuned this week as I share the rest of our trip!

The Sunshine State: 10 Hours In LA

I'm finally getting around to sharing our amazing trip through California earlier this September! We spent a week driving up the coast on Highway 1 loving every second of the sunshine we got.

We spent 10 Hours in Los Angeles and 6 of them were sleeping! We flew in Friday night and after a terrible two hour wait at our car-rental we hit up In-N-Out, stuffed our faces and then quickly made our way to LACMA to see Urban Light by Chris Burden.

I had been wanting to see this exhibit since college and it was well-worth the wait!

We crashed at our hotel and woke up early to hit the road before traffic. We stopped quick at Randy's Donuts for a Coconut, French Curler, Honey Oat & an Old Fashioned – don't judge us, it's vacation, we deserved a donut.

Then we started up Highway 1 with a quick stop in Venice Beach to grab coffee at Menottis and take a short walk on the beach.

Stay tuned this week for more from our California Coast Trip!
